News Announcements
With the end of ski season comes an exciting and busy project season! We are pleased to announce the commencement of various projects and would like to take the opportunity to provide you with an update:
Final Phase of the Fireplace Conversion Project
This endeavor is a continuation of the project that was initiated last fall and we will be completing the remaining 91 fireplace conversions over the next three weeks. This project will offer financial and safety benefits to all owners as well as improved guest satisfaction for your renters.
The Snowshoe front desk is working with the installation crew to place maintenance blocks on the units that are included in this phase. If your unit is not on Snowshoe’s rental program, please coordinate with your property manager or feel free to have them reach out to me directly. For owners whose units are not on a rental program, please be advised that the installation crew will be entering your unit over the next three weeks to perform the conversion. We do not have exact installation dates for each unit as speed of installation may vary from unit to unit, thus changing the timeline for the project. This project is estimated to be completed around the first week of May.
The installation crew will also be updating the courtyard fire pit while on site. New rocking chairs have also been ordered for this area.
New Fitness Equipment in the Fitness Center
The Board has approved the replacement of the original fitness equipment in the Fitness Center. Commercial-grade equipment has been ordered from Life Fitness and is expected to arrive on site the first week of June. Updating of this space is also being considered as we work to update the entire building interior.
*Interior Design Update Project*
As you may recall from prior communications, a Design Committee was recently formed to work with an interior designer to select and recommend a design to the Board of Directors for a building-wide interior update. The committee worked diligently over several months to narrow down a design that they felt would provide an upscale, rustic lodge aesthetic while maintaining a premier property identity for Allegheny Springs. At the committee’s recommendation, the Board engaged designer Phyllis Russell of Global Interiors Group and approved their recommended design proposal. Building preparations for the project will begin on Tuesday, April 16thand the first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed by Memorial Day Weekend. The first phase includes paint, carpet, and wallpaper replacement in all eight residential hallways plus painting of the Hearth Room. The second phase of the project will take place during the resort closure in the fall and will include Hearth Room furniture, rugs, and artwork, elevator landing furniture and artwork, and updates to the conference (basement) level. You can see a timeline for the project by clicking HERE and a visual concept of the design HERE. The project manager and HOA management team are coordinating with Snowshoe resort management and front desk staff to coordinate unit blocks based on guest impact. For owners who are not on Snowshoe’s rental program, please make sure that your rental management team is aware of the proposed timeline and that work will be taking place throughout the building between now and Memorial Day.
Additional Projects
Porte-cochere roof repainting, courtyard paver stone releveling, hot tub resurfacing, stairwell door replacements, and exterior stucco repairs are also being addressed as weather permits. We are working with the hot tub vendor to expedite their schedule to accomplish the resurfacing prior to Memorial Day, however if they are unable to meet this timeframe, we will likely postpone this project until a period of lower occupancy (September/October).
